In today’s digital world, you might ask yourself “Is handwriting really important for children to learn?” It may surprise you to know that learning handwriting has an immense impact on brain development.
If you have a child or student who experiences big emotions on a regular basis, sometimes far past what is age-appropriate, there is a secret that can help. You guessed it, More handwriting!
Repetitive handwriting strokes can create a change in the brain for emotional grounding and self-regulation. Sometimes kids get stuck on the right side of the brain (emotional) and can’t regulate on their own. Introducing handwriting activities and exercises can help bridge the gaps in the brain for more logical thinking.
We offer explicit handwriting instruction using the Size Matters Handwriting Program.
Individual Instruction
These sessions are designed to address specific concerns or delays with handwriting mechanics. Students attend a 1:1 session 1-3x/week and receive weekly practice exercises to complete between sessions to improve handwriting legibility and fluency for schoolwork and home.
Group Sessions
These sessions are conducted in small groups for general handwriting practice and instruction to establish good handwriting habits and develop legibility and fluency with letter formation.
